Chili Con Carne (by Biggs)

I was so excited about this dinner. I thought a big delicious bowl of chili con carne would be an absolute winner. Unfortunately I ended up making a big not-delicious bowl of chili con carne.

I don't know where I went wrong. I put all the right things in -  onion, capsicum, garlic, chilli, paprika, cumin, beef, stock, kidney beans, tomatoes both fresh and a paste - but it all just turned out a bit flavourless. I thought the salsa of avocado, tomatoes, corn and coriander would be an exciting little topper but even that was dull and uninspiring.

The bread served on the side was by far and away the highlight.....I didn't make the bread.
